Education in the Knowledge Society journal (EKS – https://goo.gl/x32jvC), which is publised by Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca, has been selected for coverage in Clarivate Analytics products and services. Beginning with its volume 18 (corresponding to 2017), EKS will be indexed and abstracted in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). ESCI index is part of the Web of Science (Wos).
This index was launched in November 2015 and had the objective of increasing the visibility and the citation options for articles published in the journals included in it. In addition, it is planted as a previous stage, under the label of candidate journal, in which to make the selection process more transparent to opt to enter the main WoS collection, and have an impact factor.
For the EKS team, the inclusion in ESCI represents a very important milestone; besides it reflects in some way the commitment with the quality and the internationalization of the journal since its second editorial stage was launched in 2015 with its volume 16. For the University of Salamanca, it is also an important achievement, because of it means an increment of the number of its journals indexed journals.
As EKS Editor-in-Chief, I want to thank all the people who made this achievement possible: the journal team, the editorial team, the scientific committee and, especially, the authors, which are the true architects of this small, but significant, success.
